BEING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALEM PARKS COMMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS, AND ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR, THE REHABILITATION OF THE CENTENNIAL PARK POOL FACILITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1:
The Salem Parks Commission be, and is hereby authorized to advertise for bids, and enter into contract for, the rehabilitation of the Centennial Park pool facility. The cost of the contract shall be paid out of funds previously appropriated for said purpose.
Section 2:
That Council find and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of its committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law.
Section 3:
That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety in the City of Salem, and shall go into immediate effect for the reason that it is necessary to provide for the rehabilitation of the Centennial Park pool facility in order that the project be undertaken and completed at the earliest possible time so that the residents of the City of the Salem have the benefit of the recreational facilities thereof with as little interruption as possible.
