BEING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE EDITING AND INCLUSION OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES AS PARTS OF THE VARIOUS COMPONENT CODES OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SALEM, OHIO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, various ordinances of a general and permanent nature have been passed which should be included in the Codified Ordinances of Salem, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, numerous sections in the Traffic, General Offenses and Fire Prevention Codes need to be updated so as the conform to enactment of the Ohio General Assembly.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1:
That the ordinances of the City of Salem, Ohio of a general and permanent nature as revised, recodified, rearranged and consolidated into component codes, titles, chapters and sections within the 1999 Replacement Pages to the Codified Ordinances are hereby approved and adopted.
SECTION 2:
The following sections of the Traffic, General Offenses and Fire Prevention Codes as amended, are hereby approved and adopted as amended or enacted so as to conform to enactments of the Ohio General Assembly:

SECTION 3:
The complete text of the Traffic, General Offenses and Fire Prevention Codes sections listed above are set forth in full in the 1999 replacement pages to the Codified Ordinances which are hereby attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A. Any summary publication of this ordinance shall include a complete listing of these sections. Notice of adoption of each new section by reference to its title shall constitute sufficient publication of new matter contained therein.
SECTION 4:
This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this ordinance or resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law.
SECTION 5:
That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in the City of Salem, and shall go into immediate effect for the reason that it is necessary to approve these revisions in the Codified Ordinances at the earliest possible date.
