BEING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO SIGN THE PETITION FOR ANNEXATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SALEM , FOR THE .116 ACRE PARCEL OF CITY PROPERTY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED WITH THE TERRITORY PROPOSED FOR THE LEDERLE ANNEXATION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Stefanie Lederle proposed to annex property into the City of Salem; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salem owns a .116 acre parcel of property proposed to be annexed with the Lederle property; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Salem to join in the annexation procedure with Stefanie Lederle.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and the Service Director are hereby authorized to sign the Petition for annexation, attached as Exhibit A, on behalf of the City of Salem, in connection with the .116 acre parcel described therein.
SECTION 2:
That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in the City of Salem and the inhabitants thereof by reason of the immediate need to file the petition for annexation in a timely manner, and shall go into immediate effect.
