BEING A RESOLUTION COMMENDING SALEM HIGH SCHOOL'S STATE TRACK QUALIFIERS IN THE 3200 METER RELAY AND THE 1600 METER RUN.
WHEREAS, Kristen Kenst, Sarah Loudon, Angela Rank and Mary Bauman constitute the highly successful 4x800 relay team which qualified for the upcoming State Track Meet by setting a new school record in the event for the fifth time this track season; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bauman qualified individually for the upcoming State Track Meet in the 1600 run, again establishing a new school record in the event; and
WHEREAS, we, the members of the Salem City Council wish to express our appreciation and commend these outstanding athletes and their coaches for their exceptional performances, and wish them the best of luck in the State Track Meet;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1:
That this Council does for its members and for the citizens of Salem pay tribute to Kristen Kenst, Sarah Loudon, Angela Rank and Mary Bauman for their outstanding achievements in the 1999 track season, and wish them the best of luck in their events in the State Track Meet.
SECTION 2:
That this Resolution be filed in the Book of Ordinances and Resolutions of the City of Salem, and that the Clerk of this Council be directed to deliver a copy of this Resolution to each member and coach of the team.
