BEING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR REMOVAL OF TREES AND STUMPS BY THE SHADE TREE COMMISSION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1:
That the Mayor be, and hereby is authorized to advertise for bids and enter into contract for the Shade Tree Commission removing trees and stumps project, cost of which is not to exceed $20,000.00.
SECTION 2:
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in the City of Salem, and shall go into immediate effect for the reason that it is immediately necessary to secure a contractor during the tree trimming season.
