BEING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SHADE TREE COMMISSION TO ACCEPT THE GRANT FROM THE SALEM COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR TREE PLANTING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALEM, STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1:
That the Shade Tree Commission be, and hereby is authorized to accept the $22,000 grant from the Salem Community Foundation for the tree planting project.
SECTION 2:
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in the City of Salem, and shall go into immediate effect for the reason that it is immediately necessary to secure a contractor during the tree planting season.
