BEING A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF SALEM AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO ACCEPT THE SUM OF $40,000.00 FROM THE PERRY TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES PURSUANT TO PERRY TOWNSHIP RESOLUTION NO. 00-006, WITH SAID $40,000.00 TO BE USED BY THE SALEM PARKS DEPARTMENT FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS .
The Council of the City of Salem, Columbiana County, Ohio, met in regular session on the 4th day of April, 2000, at the City Hall, Salem, Ohio.
WHEREAS, the Township Trustees have appropriated and adopted through Perry Township Resolution No. 00-006 that $40,000.00 be given to the Salem Parks Department for use in capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salem and the Salem Parks Department believe the acceptance of the $40,000.00 from the Perry Township Trustees would be in the best interest of the City of Salem and the Salem Parks Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Salem, Ohio that:
(1) The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept the $40,000.00 contribution as outlined in Resolution 00-006 of the Perry Township Trustees, with said $40,000.00 to be used for the capital improvements within the Salem Parks system.
(2) The Council Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Susan Johnston, Clerk of Perry Township, as soon as possible.
